Dart-Suite
Q1. When will robot programs created in Dart-Platform 2 be supported in Dart-Platform 3?
A1. We are discussing so that it can be supported within the year in the form of a Migration Tool. (It just cannot run directly)
Q2. Can modules created through Dart-IDE be distributed only through Dart-Store?
A2. It’s currently before the official opening of Dart-Store, and distribution via USB is also possible. But we are discussing whether to do it in a way that only allows online distribution through the store at the time of opening.
Q3. How to deal with warranty and issues for modules created through Dart-IDE?
A3. When a module is uploaded to the Dart-Store, it goes through Doosan Robotics’ review process, and a warning notification appears if a module that does not go through the process is installed offline. Regardless of whether or not it is reviewed, the software developer will be primarily responsible for issues caused by the module. (separate from hardware warranty)
Q4. Does the DRFL/API of the existing controller work in the Next Gen. Controller?
A4. Even in the Next Gen. Controller, DRFL /API is maintained.
Q5. How is the usability of the development languages Typescript and React?
A5. It is used a lot by app and web developers, and can be learned relatively quickly. The advantage is that the initial entry barrier is not high and accessibility is great.
Q6. Can many features be implemented during development with visual scripting(No coding)?
A6. About 50% of the features can be implemented with visual scripting. Moving projects with DRLs is mostly possible even at this level. If you want to create a Skill(current User Command Module), some coding might be required. But in the case of an application, the screen configuration and functions for basic operation cab be implemented sufficiently.
Q7. To what extent would development and testing be possible if simulations were used without actual robots?
A7. Simulator communication through non-real Dart-Services supports serial, TCP/IP, Modbus TCP/RTU and even Digital/Analog IO.
Q8. Can we make new popup windows using Dart-IDE?
A8. In addition to the system UI and Dart-API, there are also Toast API and Popup API, allowing users to configure modules freely.
Q9. What is the list of modules provided by default?
A9. Robot Parameter, Jog Plus, Status, Logs, Task Editor, Remote Control, Settings, Store
Q10. Can we see the mouse pointer on the TP? Or should I use the keyboard and touch the screen?
A10. In Dart-Platform 3, the mouse pointer is displayed on the TP screen.
Q11. Can I use the new platform on a PC or tablet without purchasing the Next Gen. Controller?
A11. It’s available only with Next Gen. Controller.
Q12. Will the servo status button be locked while running a task?
A12. Yes. Servo button is disabled when robot is moving - including homming, jogging or running programs.
Q13.Are all Kinematic, JTS, Friction, and FTS calibration features available on Dart-Platform 3?
A13. This can be done using the same way for the current controller - using Dart-Studio.
Next Generation Controller
Q1. What is the pricing policy of Next Gen. Controller?
A1. A separate notice regarding the price will be made.
Q2. What is the transition time from the existing controller to the Next Gen. Controller?
A2. After the start of sales in the 2nd half of 2023, 35% in 2024 and 65% in 2025, and we see 2026 as the point of complete transition.
Q3. What is the difference between Standard and OEM Controller?
A3. Standard Controller is with an increased protection level by adding an enclosure to the basic OEM Controller.
Q4. Is it possible to purchase and operate only the controller without a Teach Pendant like the existing A-SERIES?
A4. Even the A-SERIES, which sells TP as an option among existing models, are supplied with TP included in most of them, so TP is provided as standard for all robots . If a customer wishes to purchase without TP, we’ll initially respond with SQ order, and if sales volume is secured, we plan to add TP as a formal option item.
Q5. Is it possible to connect Smart Pendant to the Next Gen. Controller?
A5. Smart Pendant and Emergency Stop Button for the A-SERIES cannot be connected with the Next Gen. Controller.
Q6. Even the E-SERIES also compatible with TP if connected with the Next Gen. Controller?
A6. Yes. By connecting E-SERIES with the Next Gen. Controller, TP can be compatible.
Q7. Will the Next Gen. Controller be compatible with existing accessories? (E-stop, Smart Pendant…)
A7. Basically incompatible.
Q8. Will it be possible to use more then 500mm TCP setup?
A8. We are planning to extend TCP up to 600mm(TBD) in V2.11.1 update.
